Every year, in mid-November, for 3 days at the Maison de Grenoble INP: checked second-hand ski equipment at bargain prices, open to all: students and the general public.
Every year, mid-November, The Grand Circle is organizing its Ski Swap to the Maison de Grenoble INP, in Saint-Martin-d'Hères. During 3 days, the partner brand Horizon Mountain – The Ski Box y offers new and used ski and snowboard equipment — skis, boots, poles, technical clothing — at prices significantly below market rates, with its team on site to advise visitors on the choice and adjustment of their equipment.
The Grand Cercle organizes the event, provides the Maison de Grenoble INP and handles the communication around the Ski Exchange; the sale of the equipment is entirely handled by Horizon Montagne – La Boîte à Skis, an independent Grenoble store specializing in mountain equipment for over 30 years.
Unlike most Grand Cercle events, the Ski Swap is open to everyone : students of Grenoble INP – UGA of course, but also anyone from Grenoble and its surrounding area looking for affordable ski equipment for the season.
Each year, on 3 days in mid-November, generally from 9am to 7pm. The exact dates of the next edition are announced on the Grand Cercle's social media several weeks in advance.
To the Maison de Grenoble INP, on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus — the place which notably houses the premises of the Grand Cercle.
⚠️ Not to be confused with other similar operations organised elsewhere in Grenoble (notably by other structures) — the Grand Cercle Ski Exchange is held exclusively at the Maison de Grenoble INP.
No: unlike most Grand Cercle events, the Ski Swap is free and open to all, student or not, residing in Grenoble or the surrounding area.
New and used skis, boots, poles, and technical ski and snowboard clothing sold by Horizon Montagne – La Boîte à Skis. Prices vary depending on the condition and model of the equipment.
No: the Ski Exchange is not not A garage sale or consignment sale between individuals. All the equipment offered comes exclusively from our partner store, Horizon Montagne – La Boîte à Skis, which handles all sales. No trade-ins or drop-offs of personal equipment are possible on the day of the event.
However, it is possible to bring your own ski boots to try them on and adjust them with equipment purchased on site.
Credit cards, cash and checks are accepted. A refreshment stand is also available on site.
