Grenoble INP – UGA Student Union
Founded in 1956, the Grand Cercle is one of the oldest student associations in France. This year, the association is celebrating his 70 years old. Today, it represents more than 8,000 students gathered within Grenoble INP – UGA.
The Grand Cercle plays a crucial unifying role for INP's clubs and associations by providing essential structural and financial support. Through a grant system, it ensures an equitable distribution of resources, enabling different groups to successfully carry out their projects. Furthermore, the Grand Cercle organizes training sessions and workshops to develop members' management, communication, and organizational skills. This comprehensive approach aims to strengthen synergy between the various student initiatives, thereby fostering a collective dynamic and enhanced cohesion within the university community.

The Grand Circle is based at CEVU (Council for Studies and University Life, 30 members), the body that gives advice on all matters relating to student life at Grenoble INP – UGA. The president intervenes several times during their term: presentation of projects at the beginning of the term, progress report at the mid-term, then moral and financial report at the end of the term.
The treasurer of the Grand Cercle represents the association at the CSIE (Student Initiatives Support Committee), alongside elected student and faculty representatives. This committee funds student association projects submitted in advance, before their implementation. Other complementary mechanisms exist at the university level: the FSDIE (UGA) and the CROUS Culture and Campus Life Committee.

Twice a year, the Grand Cercle organizes the Council of Clubs and Associations (CCA), which distributes the institution's subsidies among the thirty or so affiliated clubs and associations. To benefit from this, each club signs the Grenoble INP – UGA association charter (approval): board and presidency mainly composed of students from the institution, commitment against hazing and sexist and sexual violence, and mandatory training (association management, budget management, safety in festive environments, prevention of sexist and sexual violence, fire risk, first aid).

Each of the schools within Grenoble INP – UGA, as well as the INP Preparatory Program, has its own student union. The Grand Cercle provides them with daily support: lending equipment, coordinating election and campaign schedules, and joint training sessions (financial management, security at parties, prevention of gender-based and sexual violence).
We have a genuine desire to be a driving force behind student initiatives and to dedicate all our resources to the creation and growth of student associations. As students, we are fully aware of the unique experience that student association projects provide and all the knowledge each member can gain. That's why we support nearly thirty clubs and associations in their projects through training or grants. Magic, cinema, sports, cooking… there's something for everyone!
